Taraji Belle Gomba Awich September 10th 2025 Eulogy: It is in humble acceptance It is in loving memory It is with flags flying at half mast We must now announce the felling of our fellow Mammoth, Pilgrim and Titan, Taraji Belle Gomba Awich: She left us on Wednesday 10th of September 2025. Taraji Belle was in every context a sweet daughter, a cousin, a granddaughter, a Christian, Roman Catholic and a loyal, larger than life Kenyan-American. Living all of 5 months in-utero Taraji never got to meet herself and so the rest of this eulogy is written as a letter to our daughter about herself in every way that she would represent her family: Dearest Taraji Gomba Awich, Inasmuch as you have left us here to strangers alone; inasmuch as the dull blade of loneliness finds its mark; inasmuch as it stands a cruel world where old grandparents must wait in vain to befriend their grandchild You were conceived in tireless love You were long-awaited Hosted patiently in a family full of hope, history, and traditions You have a home, a family, and 2 countries Your poppy loves you. Your mommy loves you. Your brother and sister love you. Your grandparents love you, wholeheartedly... Your aunts, uncles, cousins, and our neighbors. Sweetie, you sparked immense joy when you burst onto the scene. Let me tell you: Life is a vacation (when God is working)! Your earth birthday was being planned for any day between Christmas and New Year's eve. But if we waited full term, the calendar said you had every probability to be born on your Grandpa's or even your mum's birthdays next January! Gomba: Yours was definitely a journey from festivity to festivity; from love to love. Darling, your name TARAJI is a Kiswahili utterance meaning expectation (or hope); BELLE is for your femininity; GOMBA is our mother tongue, Dholuo, asking the world to need you, and our surname AWICH is us: the White hair heads. Now you are at once a Saint. You live in Holiness which is nothing more than FAITH'S destination, far apart from time, suffering, growing old or feeling cold or hungry. Here, however, in commercial earth we mourn you in every material way since you belonged to all of us: Intellectual, Private, Communal and Divine property -- believe it: We mourn you and not ourselves, my dear, for this is your moment... Finally, we exalt your bravery, Belle Awich, and highlight it over the course of your life. YOU ARE SO BRAVE for only a few can in hopeful human form consciously journey so far, so innocently, and so immediately. Your bravery will always be a spirit and light to us, our values and our ideas going forward in our dedicated sojourn: You've changed my life and how I'll live it! You united us by your weight!
