Jacqueline Jones Bobb

The journey of a precious flower opened on August 17, 1951, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Dorothy Howard Taylor and Reverend James Lee Dowdy. She was the fourth child, and they lovingly named her Jacqueline Benita Jones. At age 73, on August 30, 2024, at her home in Fort Washington, Maryland, Jacqueline entered eternal rest. At the heavenly gates, she met her mother and father, as well as five siblings: Carolyn Jones, Patsy Dowdy, Tanara Howard, Stanley Jones, and Jessie McHenry-Lazenby, her niece Carmen “TC” Jones, her beloved mother- and father-in-law, Mary H. Bobb, Rev. Donald Bobb, as well as Oz Lazenby, Jr., Paajoe Offeigbu, Myrtle Howard, and Elizabeth “Liz” Bobb. Jacqueline attended Tulsa Public Schools, graduated from the Tulsa Residential Job Corps, and participated in some college. She entered the workforce as a CNA. Over the years, she was a stay-at-home mom and daycare provider, a volunteer at her children’s school, and worked in retail, with her final employment in food services with the Prince George’s County Public Schools. With her former husband of thirty years and her three children, she traveled often. She enjoyed living in different locations such as Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Ivory Coast, Brazil, and Kenya, always returning home to see her family in Austin, TX, and Tulsa, OK. She spent her latter thirty years living in Maryland, close to her children and grandchildren. Jacqueline, lovingly known as Mom, Granny, and Ms. Jackie, left her mark amongst all she knew. Everyone loved her peaceful and kind demeanor, as well as her sassy and celebratory approach to life. She is remembered by her three children: Patrice Lenett Minor (Lonnie), Kimnada Lawann Bobb-Jordan (Byron), Travis Scott Bobb (Nicole); seven grandchildren: Maya, Lynnaya, Jacqueline “JC” (Keith II), K. Danielle, Patrick, Wayne, Jr., and Brayden; three great-grandchildren: Keith III, Autumn, and Ashleigh; her former spouse, F. Scott Bobb, siblings Alma (Sidney) Johnson, Linda (James) Kirk, Larry Howard, Jaretta Offeigbu, Denorvice (Glenda) Howard. Also surviving are a host of bonus siblings-in-law, Loretta Harlin, Benjamin Bobb, Christopher “Robby” Bobb, and Ruthie (David) Schaad; goddaughters Triana & Destinee; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other relatives and friends. She loved spending time with family and friends, playing Bingo, puzzles, reading, and she especially enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders. Her Visitation is Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 10:00am until time of Service, 11:00am at Fort Washington Baptist Church, 11516 Fort Washington Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. In Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, September 20 ,2024, Her service is 12:00 Noon at Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministry, 1609 North Evanston Place, Tulsa, OK 74115 Interment September 20, 2024, Crown Hill Cemetery, 4301 East 66th Street North, Tulsa, OK 74117
