Elaine Henry Christophe

Elaine Henry Christophe, daughter of the late Henry Christophe and Mirna Descene was born December 9, 1962, in Haiti. She was the eldest of 3 siblings. She entered eternal rest on August 18, 2022, at Capital Caring Adler Hospice Center in Aldie, Virginia after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was reared in Brooklyn, New York and received her education in the New York School System and graduated from Erasmus High School in 1980. Upon graduating she attended the State University of New York College at New Paltz, where she received her Associate Degree in Business Administration. After graduation she began her working career and worked for several notable private companies such as Kidder, Peabody & Company (Wall Street), ING (formerly Life of Georgia Insurance Company), Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Governor’s Office of Developmental Disabilities, Atlanta GA, Assistant District Campaign Manager, Atlanta Mayoral Campaign, Atlanta GA and Translator, Latin America Translation Network, Atlanta GA. After working private industry for 12 years, she pursued and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Georgia State University in 2001. At a very young age, Elaine had a deep seeded desire to become a respectable, ethical, and effective attorney. However, because of her parents’ influence, she was led to purse the field of Computer Sciences. She worked as a computer programmer for ten years and then decided to pursue her passion in law. In 2005, she received an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Paralegal from Brown Mackie College, Atlanta GA. She worked at the Internal Revenue Service for 12 years. She was a senior tax analyst. Very intelligent and articulate which showed in her work ethics. She took pride in whatever tasks she was assigned. She was a very private person but if she found you to be authentic, she would embrace you. Elaine penned her goals early in life and decided there were 4 goals she would pursue in order of importance: Spirituality, Health, Wealth, and Happiness. She regularly attended New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of the late Bishop Eddie Long. In the Maryland/DC area, she enjoyed attending Mt. Ennon Baptist Church under the direction of Senior Pastor Delman L Coates, Clinton Maryland. Elaine was an avid gardener. She enjoyed planting roses, hibiscus, hydrangeas and keeping a well-manicured lawn. She enjoyed working with her hands and taking on projects such as redesigning her bathroom, refurbishing her dining table and anything that looked outdated. She sewed some of her outfits and clothing and started a basket weaving business early in her life. She was a great cook and loved holidays, hosting, getting together with family and friends. She loved cooking (what a cook!), loved holidays, hosting, and getting together with family and friends. She loved all her nieces and nephews. Elaine leaves many happy memories to hold in the hearts of those who loved her.
